GILBERT, Arizona – For Kings Football, what started as a club team four short years ago has now evolved into a genuine youth football program with this year’s addition of Mighty Mite and Junior Pee-Wee division teams. The Kings are hopeful the expansion of 2008 ends much like the 2007 season when the Pee Wee Kings captured the programs first title. JUNIOR KINGS In his first season at the helm of the Junior Kings coached Armando Encinas welcomes a host of new faces to the squad including over most of the players from the 2007 Championship Pee Wee team. The Junior Kings opened the 2008 campaign with a heartbreaking loss to the 2007 Junior Division Champion Xtreme but battled back to mount a convincing win over the Queen Creek Wildcats this past Saturday. PEE WEE KINGS Former defensive coordinator Willie Daniel is in his first season as head coach of the Pee Wee Kings. Daniel takes over for Abe McHatton who has joined owner Kenny King at the executive level to assist in operations and expansion. Most of the starters including M.V.P. Kaelin Deboskie have gone onto the junior level, but some notable returnees to the Pee Wee's are Jamian Maes, Niko Holmes-Miller, Tristen Vance, Fabian Ortiz and scrappy Ben Troglia who was out most of 2007 with a broken ankle. The defending Pee Wee division champions have started 2008 the way they finished 2007, by WINNING!! Now 2-0, the Pee Wee’s are poised for this Saturday’s matchup with arch-nemisis Panthers. MIGHTY MITE/ JUNIOR PEE WEE Two new divisions to the Kings Program in 2008 is Mighty Mite and Junior Peewee. Both teams started their inaugural season off with flare this past Saturday by posting impressive wins over the Queen Creek Wildcats. Former Pee Wee Kings assistant coach Isaac Cheshier moves over to Might Mite head coach for the 2008 season. New comer to the Kings Program, Gershom Williams will head the ship in the Junior Pee Wee division.
