Abe McHatton (Head Coach) "The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind." - Dr. Wayne W. Dyer Abe has over 15 years of football experience, either performing, studying and/or coaching. Outside of football, Abe works in the Supplement industry as a Sales Director. A native of Marshall, Texas, Coach McHatton is married with two children; son Kyl and daughter Ava. In 2006, Coach McHatton led the Kings to a 7-3 record on their way to the Playoff semi-finals.
Willie Daniel (Defensive Coordinator)"What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?" A native of Phoenix, Willie has been playing football in the Phoenix area since he was 8 years old. He played in high school and at Arizona State University. Coach Daniel believes that his strong background and knowledge for the game of football allows him to teach kids about the influence football can have on their lives. He feels it can prepare them for life and the real world by teaching hard work, teamwork, discipline and attitude.
Ryan Maes (Defensive Line)"If you ain't first, you're last" - Ricky Bobby Ryan played 4 years of football at Torrence High School before graduating in 1994. Since then, Coach Maes has coached 4 years of Youth Tackle Football, two of those with the Kings. Ryan is also the co-owner of Perfect Symmetry (pstint.net), which specializes in window tinting and paintless dent repair. A native of Torrance, California, Coach Maes spends his rare off days with his wife and three children: Jamian (10), Kiannah (6) and infant Jace.
Dante Ellington (Offensive Line)"Give it all you got!" A native of Rochester, New York; Dante moved to Colbert County, Alabama where he finished his prep career at Colbert County High School in Leighton. Ellington played four seasons at the University of Alabama before embarking on an NFL career with the Eagles, Ravens and Cardinals. Coach Ellington loves spending time with his newborn daughter Kiersten, as well as shooting pool, playing Madden '07 and listening to music. Anthony Williams (Secondary)"Find a way to win!" A native of Bromeley, Alabama, Coach Williams played college football at San Francisco City College before playing semi-professional football for two seasons. Coach Williams teaches kids that football can help foster discipline and guidance, as well as giving them something to strive for in life. Anthony returns for his third season on the Kings staff. He is employed by the University of Phoenix as an enrollment counselor. In his spare time Coach Williams enjoys spending time with family friends and his two sons, Veontai (3) and Ahmerion (2).
John Heard (Assistant Coach/Equipment Manager)A native of Scottsdale, John played football for 4 years in high school and received awards for second team all state and most improved player. Coach Heard feels football teaches us a great deal about ourselves and what we can achieve. John graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1996, earning his degree in Criminal Justice and currently works in Sales and Marketing. His interests include spending time with his son and family, hanging out with friends, music and working on receiving his pilot's license.
Brian Johnson (Quarterbacks/Wide Receivers)"Without struggle there is no progress." - Frederick Douglas A high school quarterback during his prep years, Coach Johnson played collegiate basketball for Enterprise State Junior College for 2 seasons before going to the University of Alabama where his received a degree in International Marketing and Spanish in May of 2006. In his spare time, Brian enjoys travelling and spending time with friends and family. He currently works as an Entrepreneur specializing in Marketing.
Gershom Williams (Defensive Backs)"Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there!" A native of Gary, Indiana, Gershom began playing football at the age of 10 in nearby Mesa. After playing wide receiver in Pop Warner, Williams was converted to a defensive back in high school where he prepped at Mesa High School. Currently Coach Williams is a defensive backs coach in the National Youth Sports (NYS) spring football league. In the fall he returns to the ACYFL as a defensive back coach for the Kings.
