Fundraiser to become annual event[CASINO NIGHT SLIDESHOW][RATE YOUR EXPERIENCE AT CASINO NIGHT]Over 200 participants crammed into Gilbert's Brunswick Zone Sports Bar on Saturday night April 19 for a charity casino to benefit Kenny King Charities and King's Football.Casino action was competive along 15 tables consisting of poker, blackjack, roulette and craps, with participants playing for the chance to win various prizes including a 42" plasma television and expense paid trips to Vegas.
"It's exciting but humbling to see so many of our friends show up and support what we're doing with Kenny King Charities and King's Football," said event organizer Kenny King.
"Alot of people put in some long hours to make this event possible. From parents of children involved in King's Football to my staff at Kenny King Charities, all of them worked hard to make Casino Night a success. And of course I can't forget our sponsors, they stepped up and supported my vision of Casino Night and made it possible to put on a first class event in its first year."
Kenny King Charities is a non-profit, 501 c-3 organization that has a mission of developing today's youth into the leaders of tomorrow. Programs within Kenny King Charities have at its core: mentoring, accelerated reading and academic assistance. Kenny King's Tackling Books program has been a success in his hometown of Daphne, Alabama and is planned to commence in several school systems in Alabama and Arizona in the fall of 2008.
King's football is made up of several teams that participate in the Arizona Central Youth Football League headquartered in Chandler, Arizona. Fundamentals, discipline and hard work are the central themes of King's football and is the cornerstones that propelled King's Football Pee-Wee's to a 2007 Arizona State Championship.
